[Mo-facs] Summer Conference Program Has Been Posted!

Good morning!
 
The 2007 MoEFACS Summer Conference Program has now been posted to the Missouri ACTE website!  You can access it at the following link: http://www.mo-acte.org/conferences/2007/ 
 
A few highlights......
 
We have 4 pre-conference workshops/sessions for MoEFACS attendees this year.  You will find information and registration forms at the following link on our FCS website: http://dese.mo.gov/divcareered/conferences.htm#MOEFACS  The "for credit" offering this year is a two-day session: Implementing FCCLA into the Curriculum.  One (1) hour of graduate or undergraduate credit can be obtained from the University of Central Missouri for participation in this session.
 
We also have a one-day session on the Love U2 curriculum from the Dibble Fund; a one-day session for teachers who are interested in serving as a supervising/cooperating teacher for student teachers; and of course, our annual one-day session for those teachers that are new or returning to the FCS classroom.
 
On Tuesday, you will want to make plans to be at the Springfield Expo Center for the day.  The Missouri Opening General Session will feature Dr. Harry K. Wong and he will continue his presentation on "How to Be a Successful and Effective Teacher"  in an afternoon session.  For more information on Dr. Wong, you can visit the following link: http://www.lecturemanagement.com/speakers/wong_harry.htm  <http://www.lecturemanagement.com/speakers/wong_harry.htm >    A complimetary box lunch will be provided at the Expo Center for all conference attendees that day following the Opening General Session and there will be time for you to visit the many exhibitors/vendors that will be set up at the Expo Center.  After Dr. Wong's afternoon presentation, we will have our MoEFACS DESE Update at the Expo Center and then it is back to the Clarion for our MoEFACS Awards and Recognition Reception that evening.
 
Wednesday is a very busy day with Division meetings, the MoEFACS Annual Business meeting, and concurrent sessions. And don't forget the Missouri ACTE Social that evening at the Oasis Inn!    
 
Thursday we will have our MoEFACS Closing General Session which will feature a wonderful presentation titled "What Makes a Great Teacher" by Tom Krause, an internationally recognized motivational speaker from Nixa, Missouri. Visit his website at http://www.coachkrause.com/index.html for more information.  We will conclude our conference that morning with the ever popular carousel of teaching ideas.
 
There are many activities and sessions too numerous to mention throughout the week! Take some time to review the program and other information and also be sure to read our Spring Newsletter when it is posted to our website later this month.  It will have some additional conference information you will want to review.  We will drop a note to the listserve when the newsletter is posted.
