[Mo-facs] FW: New STAR events

Advisors- unfortunately I don't have a lot to share with you on this.

 

Yes, there are going to be three new STAR Events - these are not the
exact titles, but here are the areas:

 

Personal Finance

Fashion Merchandising

Interior Design

 

They (nationals) are working on the event guidelines and they are to be
published in September (I don't know exactly when.)  They are to be
published at www.fcclainc.org <http://www.fcclainc.org/>  as is the
entire STAR Events manual.  It will be a free download from the national
site.  We will be working on changes to the Missouri STAR Events manual
but honestly I don't know what it will look like until I see what
national publishes. 

 

I anticipate the new events will be incorporated into regional and state
levels this year, but that will depend on the final versions released by
nationals and when they are actually released.  

 

What I can tell you is to watch the list serve, as we (Missouri) make
final decisions based on what is released - this is where I will
announce it.

At summer conference, in the Integrating FCCLA  workshop, I was told
that 3 new STAR events would be demo-ed at cluster.  Are these events
going to be used this year in regional and state level competition?  If
so , where could I find the guidelines and requirements?  I would
appreciate any feedback.
