There are several questions I have been getting about Access FCCLA that
I decided it would be beneficial to put something on the list serve.
Her are the FAQs -
1. "We are having difficulty finding enough adults to attend the
conference with us to meet the requested 1 to 4 adult/student ratio.
Can that be adjusted at all?" Answer - MAYBE. The 1 to 4 ratio is a
request made so that there is adequate adult supervision of students,
especially in the evening once the sessions have been completed.
Advisors should find out if there is a local standard for adult
supervision on trips, and if so, you could also adhere to that, provided
that there truly is enough adult supervision for your students. So yes,
the number can be slightly adjusted, but please do not bring more
students than can be appropriately monitored. The guideline is there
for the safety (and sanity) of all attending the conference.
2. We know the number of students we are bringing, but not the
exact names. Can we register now and send names in later, so we don't
pay a late fee? Answer - YES. We ask that you provide the full list of
names prior to October 12, if at all possible, as we will need to print
namebadges ahead of time.
3. Do chaperones have to purchase the lunch or pay a registration
fee? Answer - NO. Chaperones do not have to pay any registration fees
to attend, there would only be the cost of the lodging at the hotel.
The lunch is an optional cost for chaperones and advisors.
4. Can I send in a PO for registration? Answer - YES - please
work with your district to bring a check with you at registration
(onsite). All payment questions for registration can be directed to the
state office - all payment questions for lodging need to be directed to
Tan-Tar-A.
5. Is there onsite registration? Answer - NO. It is very
difficult for us to accommodate onsite registrations as we make copies,
meal arrangements, etc. of all materials the week prior to the
conference. We do allow late registration through October 12, or just
call the state office if you have a unique situation.
6. I've sent in my registration already, when will I receive a
confirmation letter? Answer - we will be sending out confirmation
letters the week of September 24th. I'll post a note on this list when
we drop them in the mail.
Hope those FAQs and answers help you as you prepare for the conference.
Let me know if there is a question you have that hasn't been answered.
We look forward to seeing many of you next month at Access FCCLA!
