[Mo-facs] Advisory Committee

We are trying to start an advisory committee in a smaller town.  Does anyone have any tips or "lessons learned" from past committees?  Some things I'm wondering about are...
 
Who all should be included?
How many times do you meet?
Do your kids make the food?
What things do you discuss?  
 
Any advice would be helpful.  Thanks so much!
