Best spyware checker?

In this months PC magazine Adaware was rated 2nd and Spy seeker 2.2  was
rated  top. I don't know how much it would cost for a site license.

Hello - I am needing to do some serious spyware/trojan checking and 
deletion.  I've used AdAware to verify I have a problem, but of course

would need to purchase a site license in order to legally use it on the

District pc's.  Any recommendations regarding the best product to use
for 
spyware removal?  What's the best solution to prevent this problem in
the 
first place?  Free would be nice!  We use McAfee for AntiVirus...
