A list I've made regarding the iMac:
1- Consumer Reports has stated that the iMac is the most reliable computer of any type, anywhere.
2- Macs are now #1 in higher-ed. This means that when students head off to college, they are more likely to sit in front of a Mac than a Windows-based pc.
3- I purchased the current model iMac and used Parallels with Windows XP Pro. I wanted to test it on our Novell network and did so during the 2007-2008 school year. It did everything I wanted it to do.
4- I got a demo iMac for our Business teacher to try for a couple of months as we are about to replace all of the computers in her lab. She was skeptical and said she would probably never use the Mac OS. I asked her to judge it on being a Windows Vista machine only. I used the included Bootcamp software and loaded Vista on it. The end result: She gave her 'Thumbs up' for having a lab full of iMacs.
5- You get two computers for the price of one. A windows machine and a Mac OS machine with all of the bundled 'creativity' software.
I hope this information helps in your decision.

P.S. As of October 2007, PC World stated that the fastest Windows Vista computer they've tested was a Mac.
