[TGE-mail] A final note about political messages and TGE-mail policy

All,
As one of the moderators of TGE-mail I wanted to follow up on Norah's
message about posting political messages. Please know that the issue is
not one of partisan politics - messages from any and all of our elected
officials concerning legislative updates are encouraged, regardless of
political affiliation.
The Tower Grove East Neighborhood Association (TGENA) is a 501(c)(3)
organization, and the purpose of our policy against posting political
messages and endorsements is to protect that status. The particular
language involved with this issue is:
(6) We will not accept/post political or campaign-related messages.
Updates from elected officials are acceptable for posting, however.
You must be wondering, "So then how did the campaign message slip
through?" This list is moderated, meaning that a group of volunteers
reviews each message posted to the list and exercizes judgement, guided
by our policy (attached), about allowing that message to be sent out to
you. We try our best to make the right decision, and sometimes we get
it wrong. Thankfully we have an active membership that is eager to
provide feedback on the choices we make!
Hopefully all this discussion has encouraged you to exercise your right
to vote. See you at the polls on Tuesday!
Chris Freeland
