[TGE-mail] car break-ins 10/9

Neighbors:

Three vehicles were broken into last night in the alley between the 3400 blocks of Hartford and Juniata Streets. Windows were broken out and car stereos were stolen. All three had clubs. One woman told my husband she purposely left her doors unlocked so no windows would be broken in the event of a theft; however her window was broken anyway. (This proves the theory you should ALWAYS lock your car!)

Fortunately, none of these cars belong to my family. But for the people who are without garages, what can we do to make our alleys less attractive to these predators? Any suggestions or comments that I can pass along to my "violated" friends from across the alley would be most appreciated.
