I saw the blurb about George and the old Lagniappe's bldg. and I am also excited his potential return to the market. The Serbian (sausage) platter was always one of our family's favorites. Plus George was always very supportive of neighborhood activities in general, and specifically, our original TGE Mardi Gras Float efforts. George was most recently a manager @ DB's in Soulard (don't ask me how I know that).
I drove by Lagniappe's recently to see what's going on, and there was still no sign of activity, with the For Sale signs still in place.
By the way, best wishes to Bill and Brenda of Lagniappe's, wherever you are. We miss you.
In the meantime, for you chicken lovers, I was wondering if anyone has been to Carmen's @ Magnolia and Gravois. They have a sign out front promoting their fried chicken as being the recipe from the long time Mary's Fine Foods of the same location.
Regards,
Brad DePriest

On the corner of Shenandoah, and Nebraska was a place called Shenandoah Bar and Grill, which now is Tanner B's. At that time there was a group of twenty to forty people who lived in Tower Grove East neighborhood, and every Thursday night they would get together to play co-ed softball and have an dinner at the Old Shenandoah Bar and Grill. They were just the greatest group of people! They came faithfully family, friends, children every Thursday night to enjoy a dinner of chicken. They called the team, The Drumsticks, they loved the chicken there. On Wednesday August. 8Th STLtoday.com under Dinning, posted that George Korac, Who build a following for his chicken and Serbian dishes at The Old Shenandoah Bar and Grill is reviving The Old Lagniappe's space at 2501 South Ninth Street. They asked at last chicken club dinner to be inform if George Korac was to relocate. There is no opening date set yet. This is the only form of information to get word to this lovely group of people of Tower Grove East neighborhood. Thank You
