There was an article in the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch on December 30,
2006 stating Police Chief Mokwa is starting a new Anti-Crime Team of
approximately fifty plainclothes Policemen. The "A.C.T." began in
January 2007 to serve as a swift, tactical unit to address hot spots
aggressively, and will go after specific criminals in an effort to take
our streets back. This unit will work closely with neighborhood leaders,
the Saint Louis Black Leadership Roundtable, religious coalitions, and
will assist state probation and parole offices in arresting repeat
offenders.
