Once again, the proposed development at Grand and Shenandoah seems to
be proceeding, but I still can't find out much about it. The signs are
up advertising lease space in the planned building, but there is no
website, no time frame. The current business journal has an article on
the south grand commerce bank development, in which Pelican Place is
mentioned. They say "Developer Pelican Court LLC, led by Richard
Robinson, Doug Howard, and Marc Sarni, has the 7 Million dollar Pelican
Court mixed use development planned for the corner of Grand and
Shenandoah. The project will include demolition of a vacant former
YMCA at 2232 S. Grand where a two-story, 30,000 square foot building
with retail and office space will be built. Next door, the former
Pelican's restaurant building at 2256 S. Grand will be rehabbed." Does
anyone have more information? Economic development committee?
