Dear Neighbors - The information below is from the Tower Grove Heights Neighborhood Association - I have deleted some info not relevant to TGE. The last item has a link to an article about the proposed condo development on the Commerce Bank back lot. Norah Ryan (thanks to TGH)

Joe Thele is surveying for feedback on the Neighborhood Stabilization Team. You can find a copy of the survey on the NST site here: http://stlouis.missouri.org/citygov/nst/index.html

Antonio Passion is the Neighborhood Stabilization Officer for our area. (note - this includes the 15th Ward portion of TGE) You can reach him at passiona at stlouiscity.com.

The Saint Louis Assocation of Community Organizations is hosting its 12th annual conference on Saturday, March 10. There will be workshops on how you can make your neighborhood a better place and a presentation by Dr. Peter Raven of the Missouri Botanical Garden. More details are available on their site here: http://stlouis.missouri.org/slaco/

Volunteers are gathering for a cleanup of the Grand and Gravois area on February 10 at 10AM. There is a lot of development going into the surrounding blocks in the next year.

Construction for the senior housing project at Grand and Winnebago is expected to begin in May.

Four townhomes are going up at Gustine and MacDonald using "green construction" methods.

The South Grand district has applied for a streetscaping grant.

Hospitality guides have been patrolling the sidewalks of South Grand for the past month. These are similar to the hosts walking downtown. The intent is to provide directions and generally make it easier for visitors to the area.

The parking meter trials on South Grand conclude on February 28. The community improvement district is collecting surveys indicating the old coin-operated models are favored with the pay-and-display version receiving the fewest votes. There remains incentive for a newer system which could increase the density of available parking and reduce pressure on the side streets.

The South Side Journal printed an update on the condominiums and public parking to be constructed behind Commerce Bank. You can read the article here: http://southcityjournal.stltoday.com/articles/2007/01/23/news/sj2tn20070123-0124ssj_condos1.ii1.txt
