>From now until July 2, 2007, the St. Louis Children's Hospital (SLCH)
Safety Street will be in the Garden Court area of the St. Louis Galleria
from 10 am - 8 pm Monday - Saturday and from 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
Parents are invited to bring their children and grandparents are invited
to bring their grandchildren to the SLCH Safety Street ---a FREE,
interactive city scape that educates children ages 4 to 9 about:
pedestrian and passenger safety; stranger awareness; stray animal
awareness; bicycle safety; and understanding the need for rules.
According to Emmy McClelland, Director or Government Relations for SLCH,
a very important part of the hospital's mission is to help prevent
injuries to children. Safety Street was developed to teach children to
navigate safely through their neighborhoods in order to reduce fatalities
and injuries related to motor vehicles and other urban and suburban
experiences that are challenging to young boys and girls.
If you have questions, call Ms. McClelland at 314-286-2144.
