The St. Michael School has had several families move,
and is actively looking for new families to join our
community!

Our school is based on educating the whole child, and
deeply values true diversity of culture, faiths,
ethnicity, and family. Despite the name, there is no
religious teaching during the day. We serve students
aged 3 through sixth grade.

We use the Reggio Emilia method of education, where
parents, students and teachers are equal collaborators
in exploring knowledge. Rather than pouring
information into a child's brain, we all discover
knowledge together.

Reading, writing and math are paired with daily studio
arts, science, performing arts, physical education and
spanish. Each class takes part in an overall annual
study project which is integrated into ALL aspects of
the curriculum throughout the year.

We maintain special working relationships with the
Pulitzer Foundation, The St. Louis Art Museum,
Washington University, Shaw Nature Reserve, and many
other local and regional resources. We are located on
the west side of Forest Park and often utilize the
wonderful resources of the park, which are just
minutes away by foot.

We take pride in the health of our staff and students,
and utilize a caterer for our lunch program, who uses
whole organic and homecooked foods in our meals. We
also run a Tri-art camp during the summer (also
accepting applications), in which students train for a
real triathalon and also learn textile art and clay.

Please join us for a tour with our admissions director
to see the students and teachers in action!
