[TGE-mail] Armed Robbery

Hello all,

 

Just as an FYI, two nights ago my wife's uncle was robbed at gunpoint while
walking to our house.  It was about 10:30 PM on Pestalozzi at the alley on
between Compton and Michigan.  One man stood on the corner of Pestalozzi,
and after her uncle walked past him two men approached from the front and
the man behind put a gun to his head.  They took his wallet and cell phone.
Apparently, they went up the street to the Quick Trip and were able to
withdraw several hundred dollars from the ATM - we have no idea how they did
this without his pin #.  The police said that a group had robbed someone on
Grand the previous day using similar tactics, and fitting a similar
description.  Yesterday, the police stopped by our house to get some
additional information and we were told that a man fitting a similar
description to the gunman had been reported following people in a nearby
area.

 

I just wanted to send out an FYI, be careful if you are out walking at night
(as always) and report anything suspicious - these guys are targeting our
neighborhood.  Also, at least according to the police officer we spoke to,
it seems they are very actively investigating this group (probably because
of multiple crimes involving a gun).
