In response to questions regarding the properties at
3557-59 Halliday, 2816 S. Grand & 3559 Magnolia, I
would like to provide a brief history of the events
which occurred over the last 15 months and have
included two letters sent to Alderman Stephen Conway
concerning these properties (see attachments).

In early 2006 the developer Vern Heyer, Ald. Stephen
Conway, TGE Board members and resident of the 3500
blocks of Halliday and Magnolia met at 2800 S. Grand. 
Mr Heyer was in the process of acquiring 3557-59
Halliday and 2816 S. Grand.  At this meeting concerns
over density, parking, final landscaping, trash
collection, traffic flow and other issues were voiced.
 the TGENA Commercial Development Committee reported
back to the board and recommended that these
properties be put into a redevelopment plan to offer
tax abatement for the new condo owners and to provide
proper oversight and review of the project.  Soon 2800
S. Grand was added to the project.  

Over the course of several months the project was
under way with a number of partial plans and sketches
shown to the TGENA Board and at a TGE membership
meeting.  It was requested of Mr. Heyer by the TGENA
Board to present a complete set of plans.  On December
6, 2006 the TGENA Board sent a letter stating that no
changes could be endorsed as no complete set of plans
had been received.  No written response has been
received.  

After being informed that illegal work, the paving of
the the front lawn area of 3557-59 Halliday, was
performed without the necessary permits the TGENA
Board drafted a second letter dated May 5, 2007.  No
written response has been received to date.

A public hearing has been set for 1:30 pm, Wednesday,
June 6th, Room 208, City Hall.  The TGENA Board is
meeting next week with the residents of 3500 Halliday
and Magnolia to discuss the situation and draft a
statement for the hearing.  We welcome your questions,
