Sharon,

I will forward your email to one of the supervisors and staff at Catholic Charities Housing Resource Center, who I know and have worked with. They run the hotline services for St. Louis residents who are homeless, on the verge of homeless, in need of shelter, etc. In the meantime, if you want to give her the number or assist her in making the call it is -

Hotline:(314)802-5444, (314)241-5600
Tell her to ask for Melvin Foster (Hotline Supervisor) and that Elizabeth Corman referred her.

Good luck...

Good Evening Neighbors,

I am asking for any assistance that can be given on a situation that I am unfamiliar with. I have a next door neighbor who is in need of housing desperately.

Unfortunately, she is mentally handicapped and maybe even have a mild case of tourettes. Her mother has been the primary caregiver but is now in the hospital dying. Her sister has sold the house without her mother knowing and will have this neighbor evicted.

What I need is names of organizations that may be able to help my neighbor, and/or housing that may be available. She has not had any luck with social workers because of her inability not to curse at them. She does not trust anyone to handle her money. Without some assisance or place to live, I am afraid she will be forced to live on the street.

With that in mind, any names, places or organizations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
