[TGE-mail] Would anyone like to help a pregnant mother (dog)?

Hi all!
As one of the best group of pet guardians around I thought I might ask if anyone in TGE (or our sister neighborhoods) could find it in their hearts and homes to help a young Weimaraner mother who needs help.

One of the absolute best dog rescue groups in the country, Heartland Weimaraner Group (HWR), just rescued a 4-year-old mother dog who is about to give birth "any time now." She has had a litter before and so is experienced. What she needs is a place to give birth and someone who is kind enough to watch out for her as she experiences the miracle of birth again. Normally, one of the HWR regular rescuers would host the mama but those who handle these matters are unable to step in right now.

So what do you get out of helping this sweet mama? This is a no-cost to you way to share in the beauty of this birth. As someone who has been through many births of this type, every one is magical. I would love to handle this one myself but my own health and family health issues prevent me from being the one to welcome these new babies into the world. This mama is experienced so the births should be fairly easy.

You won't be going through this alone. Usually the best way for experienced mothers to give birth is to be left quiet and alone but one or more experienced HWR volunteers will go through the birth with you.

Of course, HWR will cover the expenses and equipment. If you are interested in finding out more about HWR, the web site is www.heartlandweimrescue.org. They are a nationally recognized and applauded organization having placed rescue Weimaraners with, among others, Larry the Cable Guy. One or more HWR volunteers will have to visit your home and family to make sure our rescued mother will be in the best place for her.

How do you know if you are the right person to host our little lady? Have you been there for dogs or cats giving birth in the past? Do you have a quiet corner in your home where the mama can be away from other dogs, cats and people while she is birthing? Is your home relatively quiet so that she will not get distracted during the birthing process? Do you want to be part of helping a young mother dog who needs YOUR help?

If you are interested in hosting this gentle girl through her giving birth, please email me immediately. I don't mean to be pushy but, well, as I said before, the puppies could be coming any time.

Thanks to everyone who has read this far into this very long email!

  All the best!
  Joy Ward
