It is illegal for commercial contractors to overload
dumpsters and there is a limit how much debris they
can fill a dumpster. We had a contractor fill all our
dumpsters on half our block half full in one day and
the police had him come and pull everything back out.

If contractors are overloading your dumpsters call
Citizen Service Bureau and report them 622-4800 then
also leave a message for the special Trash Officer,
Sargent Ron Hastee, 589-6009, and leave your telephone
number. He is very good at calling you back. I will
tell you that when another contractor loaded up our
yard waste dumpster with drywall three neighbors
called the developer and she had her crew over the
next day pulling everything out. We just threatened
to call the police if this was not done and they
quickly handled it.
