[TGE-mail] Frustation overload

I fully understand your concerns and feelings about ones own safety over the good of a city block. There have been so many wonderful things going on and things in general are better than when I moved into the neighborhood but I too feel the urge to hitch up the wagon when the same properties just ruin your day (or night) time after time. The "squeaky wheel" syndrome unfortunately is the only way through this, we all can see the downside to it but it is what it is. If we can have a concerted effort between the folks that live here and want it to be a better place for ourselves and guests to visit, the trash, forestry, problem property, fire and the police department from dispatch through the ranks, ect., it will be. These Departments don't know how to help if we don't let them know the issues/conveniences/inconveniences.

I had a similar situation with the fire department. Four different neighbors on our block were all out looking around our houses because of the overwhelming burning smell we realized was coming from a rehabbing project on Magnolia, which backs up to our end of Pennsylvania
It took the fire department two trips to put out the fire in the metal can that a construction crew was using to burn their scrap treated decking and other wood in last summer. The fire department didn't want to speak to us either------ until the second time they came. Gotta wonder who paid for that!

TRASH DUMPSTER ISSUE:
I would also like to add something to one of the posts regarding overfilling the trash dumpsters. It is my understanding that it is not only illegal for "contractors" to overfill dumpsters, but EVERYONE is prohibited from that during their renovations, cleaning or moving. I certainly am not the officiando on city ordinances but am pretty sure on that one. Please correct me if I am wrong so I don't wrongly call on properties using the dumpsters in my alley.

Thanks,
Gwendelyn 26xx Pennsylvania
