Don't Forget, The new plates, with the bluebird, will begin on July 1. The State MDOR feels this will be harder to steal.

Also, a old city trick is to take a box cutter and score (cut lightly through) your sticker once you have placed it on the plate, if you do this in multiple directions a thief would have to take hours not only getting your sticker off in pieces, but putting it back together...forget it.

That being said, I only put one sticker on the back plate and keep the other one in my car with my insurance card, etc. so its there if I get pulled over and they ask where it is and I can replace the back one should it get stolen. Also, I place my sticker in the middle of the plate - in between the lettering - and paint over it with clear nail polish.  It makes it much harder to get off;  and knock on wood, it hasn't been stolen in more than 3 years so it must be enough of a deterrent.
