The South Patrol Detective Bureau is investigating two purse snatchings
occurring at the International Market located at 3170 S. Grand.  These
events occurred on 12/29/07 and 12/31/07.

 

Both victims described the suspect as being a male suspect in his
mid-twenties approximately 5'08" and medium build.  During additional
interviews both victims described this subject as either an Asian or
Middle Eastern male.  The victims were specific that he is not Caucasian
as originally believed. 

 

He was further described as having a long, protruding nose and a thin or
light mustache.

 

In one instance the suspect was observed to be wearing what was believed
to be a blue Rams jacket, with a royal blue stocking cap.

 

Both victims were entering the Market when the suspect appeared from the
side alley.  In both incidents the suspect took the victim's purse from
her shoulder, fleeing east on foot then through the gangway of 3538 and
3540 Connecticut.

 

Anyone locating a subject matching this description, or having knowledge
of such a subject in the area, please contact the South Patrol Bureau or
