I would recommend Nancy Johnson, who owns a small cleaning company
called Maxi Cleaning Service. She does both residential and commercial.
She is extremely thorough and trustworthy. She is bonded and insured.
Her phone number is 636.928.7796 or cell: 314.550.3045.

Dear Neighbors (especially those of you who own rental property),
I am seeking suggestions on where to advertise vacant apartments. I
currently use the RFT, craigslist.org, and local advertising. I've been
doing this for 4 years, and lately it's been difficult to find good
renters. I admit I haven't used the RFT in some time, because the person
I used to place ads with quit, and his replacement doubled the rate.
If anyone has suggestions beyond the RFT, P-D, etc, I would welcome this
feedback. Websites? Local apartment guides?
Regards,

It is early, but I wanted to give everyone a chance to put the next
meeting for the TGE Neighborhood Meeting on the schedule becasue there
are two
changes:
1. To accomodate having the meetings at the Tower Grove Abbey, the
meeting night has changed to the 4th TUESDAYof the month from the 4th
Thursday.
2. And in response to the surveys taken over the last year, the
meeting start time has changed to 7 PM from 7:30pm.
So the next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan 22nd, at 7pm at the
Tower Grove Abbey. The guest speaker will be Thomas C. Grady, Presiding
Judge of the Twenty-second Judicial Circuit of Missouri (City of St.
Louis). Judge Grady will talk to us about the role of state judges in
our city, and how this role can affect us even at our neighborhood level
(this is the speaker re-scheduled from the Nov mtg). I look forward to
seeing everyone there!

We have hit this block of Michigan and a couple of problem properties
were vacated as a result. We will look at all issues and follow up in
January. I know the block is a priority for the Alderwoman.

Sharon and all others,
I will have both the NSO in the area and the Building division work on
Michigan Avenue as well.

Please accept my condolences for this horrible incident. I am glad that
Gregory will be okay.
My husband was walking our dog this morning and he saw a white SUV with
three african-american males in the vehicle which was parked in the 2600
block of Michigan. We have had on and off trouble with this street and
I have noticed a lot of loitering going on. There are three youths
(each wears a hoodie) that hangs in the street and on the steps and
gangway of 2705? Michigan. I put a question mark because I am not
exactly sure of the address, however, it is the fourth house from the
alley going north on Michigan from Magnolia.
Officer Don Re I think we need to check on Michigan again, it seems we
have a whole new batch of trouble.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [TGE-mail] Announced Matt Huff note further
Hi, my name is Diana DiMercurio. I live with Mr. Raymond Cartwright,
who lives next door to Matt Huff. This is regarding the note on the
shooting of his son, Gregory Cartwright, early last night. He was
coming home from work and a run to the grocery store, when two youths
accosted Greg. His girlfriend was upstairs in their apartment, and she
and I both heard two shots, and Greg screamed Daddy I am shot. He was
shot at the curb while getting his bags out of his car when the two
youths in black hoodies broached him for money.
He is doing fine in SLU hospital after being shot in the heart. Doctors
said it was a small caliber that made a hole in his heart, then traveled
through the main artery to finally lodge in his knee area. The other
bullet bounced off his breastpocket wallet, possibly saving his life.
Greg is stabilized now, and after much surgery and a lot of prayers, is
coherent and responsive. It is likely ,the doctors said, that he may
suffer some damage to the foot of that leg.
This all happened in a matter of minutes. Thank GOD for the quick
responses from my 911 call, an EMS paramedics team that arrived within
five minutes, and a police force that watched the house all night, They
even inquired how Greg was doing.
Folks, your lives can change in a matter of minutes. It is Christmas
time and there are a lot of desperate people out there, so PLEASE keep
your eyes open while you are loading Christmas presents in and out of
your car. The police told us that there are thoughyt to be three
stalkers running the neighborhoods in a white SUV, that spot and target
a victim, drop off two of the youths, they accost the victim, and run to
a vehicle parked a half block away and speed off in a vehicle.
Please be careful out there. I told Matt before going to the hospital
last night as they have a little baby and you can be preoccupied
watching and unloading carseats, diaper bags, Christmas packages
whatever, and never see it coming. Stay alert and BE SAFE this
Christmas season. Now that Matt has given me your email address I will
keep my eyes open and tell you of what I know.
Please, if there is some other place on the internet I need to go to
know what is going on in the Tower Gove neighborhood, I would appreciate
a response. Thanks for enduring my long note, but it is much better to
know what is going on that walk around and think everything is fine.
Love at Christmas and PEACE to you all

Neighbors,
As per Anne Moore's latest update, the SLPS is apparently planning on
closing Shenandoah School next year. Though disappointing news (in my
opinion) I am excited about the prospect for re-development, especially
considering that the building is eligible for historic rehabilitation
tax credits. I would strongly encourage the neighborhood to get involved
with trying to find a potential buyer/developer (maybe even a charter
school?) for the building, and also to prepare to keep a watchful eye on
the property while it is vacant. An empty building of this size, if
improperly secured and monitored, can quickly become a haven for crime.
We all need to make sure that the SLPS knows that we are watching it and
that we will not indefinitely tolerate a vacant eyesore in our midst.
The school building is truly an asset for our neighborhood and should be
regarded as such. If the school is quickly re-developed and put to good
use, the neighborhood will win. If the building sits vacant, breeding
crime and depreciating property values, the neighborhood will certainly
lose. Andrew Weil 34xx Shenandoah
