[TGE-mail] It is Official - Shenandoah to Stay Open!!!

It looks good and sounds good - but until the Monday - March 10th meeting  -  
I am still holding my breath.
 
I spoke at the last SLPS Meeting and intend to speak again - urging the  
Board to accept the proposal - thank them for sparing Shenandoah from the  Closing 
List - and Promise great things!!!!!
 
Hearing good things from the community -   but the most important  thing to 
keep it safe is at least 40 more students for the 2008-2009 school  year.
 
I did tour both Shenandoah and Wyman (where they had intended to send  
Shenandoah's students).
I was highly impressed with Shenandoah School - the building (according to  
the janitor - is low maintenance)
the Principal - Sonia Wayne - the students were all very well behaved  and 
have risen their scores 3 years in a row - they have great  programs  - before 
and after school programs - partnerships with groups  from Ballwin who tutor 
children in reading and computer usage - a wonderful  music room full of 
"keyboards" (hope to hear something from these sometime!) and  I could go on and on.  
  Hope they will schedule an OPEN HOUSE  for others to take a look - and pass 
the word - enroll in Shenandoah - we need  the additional students to STAY 
solid for future years!!!!
