[TGE-mail] TGE at Fair Saint Louis and TIPS Training

For the past 27 years,  Tower Grove East has had a booth at the VP Fair/ Fair 
Saint Louis/Live on the  Levee.  This year we are back to participating in 
Fair Saint Louis over the  Fourth of July weekend. The booth is open from 11 
a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday,  July 4th and 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 5th.  We will 
sell plastic bottles of beer,  soda, and water like last year.  We will have a 
60 foot booth just north of  the Overlook stage on Sullivan Blvd (Wharf St) 
and need about 35 volunteers to  staff it each shift.  
The Friday  entertainment is Drake Bell at 1 p.m. and Joss Stone at 8.  
Saturday night is Anthony Harris at  8.  Both evenings will end with  fireworks. 
In order to comply  with our contract and help ensure future participation 
for TGE, we also need  volunteers to attend TIPS (Training in Intervention 
Procedures to Servers of  alcohol) training.  This trains on  how to not serve 
people who have had too much to drink and underage  drinkers.  Training will be 
held  Monday, June 9, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Crown Plaza Hotel, 7750 
Carondelet in  Clayton.  Even if you are not  available to help at the booth, anyone 
who goes through training will count for  us.  Please contact me if you are  
willing to attend TIPS. 
For those of you who  have helped in the past, if you would respond directly 
to me it will save  me having to call and asking you personally.  Please let 
me know if you are  willing to help work and which day, if you are unable to 
participate this year,  or if you are not interested. I will send more details 
to those of you  who are planning to help. 
If you have not helped  in the recent past and are interested in helping this 
year, please let me  know.  We can work out the actual  shift times as we get 
closer to the Fair.
