About Grants-l
|
|
|
The participants of MOREnet's Technology Grants discussion list
include MOREnet members from Missouri's Higher Education and K-12
communities, public libraries, state government and Community Information
Networks, as well as MOREnet employees.
Naturally, we hope people will use this list to share basic grant
information with one another, whether it is potential funding sources, new
places to find information, or tips on grantwriting. For instance, one
organization might receive several free monthly newsletters, while another
might not even know they are available. That kind of information can be
crucial.
However, the main purpose of this list is collaboration. Increasingly,
both public and private grantmakers are looking for projects where
organizations work together. Consortiums of universities with K-12
districts and businesses, mentoring programs and similar "team" structures
are more likely to get funded than single organizations in today's grants
world. Such teams work well and can usually attract more diverse resources
than an organization working alone. If we share our ideas with one
another, we may find that the solutions to our problems are just down the
street, rather than across the country.
